The creative instruction history

As Southern California math teachers, we saw our students struggle with the vocabulary of Math.   Students often learned a concept during the lesson, but quickly forgot the meaning of words and concepts after the unit assessment.   We needed to move the learning into their long-term memory.   We created Math Graffiti to address this need.   We designed Math Graffiti Word Wall Cards to provide students with immediate access to concepts and vocabulary.   Math Graffiti aids all students, including multilingual learners and students with learning disabilities.

 In addition to Math Graffiti & Science Graffiti we developed Concept Flashcards to help students reinforce concepts such as graphing while working in pairs.  These flashcard sets promote collaborative thinking and student discourse.
